Dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s
How many vacancies do you have?
We have about 30 vacancies (approx.15 on each degree programme) on the programme for 2012.
Do I need to apply for the scheme via UCAS?
No, the scheme is independent of UCAS.
What happens if I fail a course module or a whole year?
While we look for the commitment to work hard and balance work and study, we recognise this is a big step and that some students may struggle with some elements of the course. Regular contact with your tutors at the University and your People Manager at Logica will make sure we both spot any concerns you may have. We treat each person individually, and will work closely with you to support you.
Am I guaranteed a job at the end of the course?
You will be a permanent employee from day one, and will continue to be employed by our Programme and Technical Services business provided you complete the course successfully.
Do you accept deferred entry applications?
While we generally do not accept applications for deferred entry, we are more than happy to talk to anyone interested in joining the programme in future years.
How quickly will you get back to me once I’ve submitted my application
We’ll acknowledge your application within two working days of receiving it, advise you of your progress as quickly as possible and update you regularly on how your application is progressing.
Do you take people who need a work permit?
We welcome applications from anyone who is legally entitled to work in the UK without restrictions. We regret that due to current Home Office guidelines we’re unable to sponsor work permits for undergraduate positions.
How will the assessment process work?
If your application is successful we’ll send you full details of the assessment process, which will include an interview, aptitude test and a group exercise. You’ll be able to visit our offices during the process so you can find out more about what we do, ask questions and make a final decision about whether this programme is right for you.
If I’m successful, when will I start work?
You’ll join Logica and enrol for your course at the University of Winchester in September 2012.
What is the dress code?
It depends where you're based and what you're doing but the general rule of thumb is business attire.
